Here at First Lutheran we have been providing quality education in a Christ-centered environment for the Havre community for over 50 years! It is our mission to give your child a setting where they can learn, grow, and develop physically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Through our programs, we seek to help your child to develop a healthy personality, form good values, and assist them in exploring the feelings and attitudes they will need to create a firm foundation for positive self-image and quality relationships within the family and community. All of this is done in a Christian environment, where your child will be introduced to and encouraged in their faith, as we seek to expand their perception of God and develop and understanding of our place in the God's creation.
First Lutheran Preschool offers classes for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. Our program utilizes the Handwriting Without Tear curriculum, which focuses on active teaching of handwriting skills. Research has shown that writing by hand improves creative writing skills, as well as assists in development of fine motor skills. Our preschool program will help your student transition well into kindergarten, and develops skills for better, faster writing.
I have worked at First Lutheran Preschool for about 14 years. I started out volunteering and subbing in the preschool, and then I was an aide for two years. I became a teacher in 2005, so this year marks my 11th year as a preschool teacher. I have taught 3, 4, and 5 year olds while I've been here.
I have a CDA (Child Development Associate Credential). Of course, there are always new innovations happening in child education, so I participate in continuing education courses, trainings and conferences throughout the year.
I have been married for 26 years. We have four children, all of them went to First Lutheran Preschool. We spend our free time in the great outdoors of Montana. We love hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, and camping, and spend a lot of time in Fort Peck.
When I began teaching preschool, I found my dream job. I love what I do, and I enjoy working with children every day and for that I am thankful.
Hi there! My name is Kami Brady and I have been teaching here at First Lutheran Preschool for the past 6 years. I have a degree in Elementary Education; and prior to working at First Lutheran, I taught for 7 years in the public school system, as well as ran a family daycare out of my home for 4 years.
I have lived most of my life in Havre. I am happily married to my husband of 19 years and have a 10 year old son. When I’m not at work I like to be outside and spend time with my family.
I enjoy getting to know my students and their families. My favorite thing about teaching 4 and 5 year olds is the excitement and magic they have as they explore the world around them. It is amazing to see how much they learn and grow, and I am so happy to be a part of their first years in school.
I have always loved education and working with students, although that is not what I originally went to school for. I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. in Animal and Veterinary Science, and a M.S. in Food Microbiology.
After college, I was employed at the University of Wyoming as the Lab Coordinator in the Molecular Biology Department, and the Laboratory Instructor for Medical Microbiology. In 2010, my husband and two sons moved to Havre, MT, where I continued my education, and was employed at MSU-Northern as an adjunct professor of Microbiology and Laboratory.
In 2012, I joined the team at First Lutheran Preschool. I loved the program that my boys went through so much that I continued my education and received my Child Development Associate (CDA).
I love watching your children bloom just as much as my sons did here.
